Peter (1850-1934): born in Luxembourg; at the age of 12, he accompanied his widowed mother to Schenectady, NY; married Caroline Winker (1850-1919) from Baden Germany, in 1875.  Peter built his magnificent home with an observation tower, and farmed.   He became recognized as a painter, carpenter and decorator.  He and Caroline steadfastly practiced the Catholic faith; he directed building of the first Pickens Catholic Church and constructed the revered altar, which is in the Pickens Catholic Church today.
